question
Why has God introduced Himself as "Allah" (alif, lām, lām and ha)? Why not another name? In the Holy Quran, God, the Almighty, has introduced Himself to the divine prophets as "Allah" whereas in other books God has used other names. For example, He has used "El Shaddai" to introduce Himself to Ibrahim and "Yahweh" to introduce Himself to Moses?
Concise answer
This name (Allah) is used for the Necessary Being (wajibul wujud) whose existence is obligatory and pure in all terms. He possesses all the qualities of perfection. To refer to such a being, different and particular words have been coined and used in different languages. For example, "Allah" is the word used in Arabic to refer to God; it is the particular and the most comprehensive name used only for God. In Persian, the word "Khuda" is used to refer to God. Therefore, every language may use a special word to refer to God, the Necessary Existent.
